Poland has many beautiful national parks and natural areas. Two well-known mountain areas forclimbing, hiking, camping and touring include the Tatra Mountains in the south and the Krkonoše Mountains in the southwest of Poland  The small town of Zakopane at the foot of the Tatra Mountains is a popular spot to see traditional culture. Not far from here, you can visit the Wieliczka Salt Mine and take a tour underground.

The Dunajec River Gorge in the south, the Białowieża Forest in the east and Wigry Lake in the northeast are beautiful places to tour.  You can have fun with many recreational activities like hiking, swimming and camping. The Masurian Lakeland area has more than 2,000 beautiful lakes to enjoy.

There are also many historic castles in Poland.  The Royal Castle in the medieval Old Town area of Poland’s capital of Warsaw is a popular travel spot. Malbork in northern Poland has a large medieval fortress built by knights.

In the city of Krakow, visitors can travel on the Royal Road through the Old Town to Wawel Castle.  Krakow is the second largest city in Poland.

Gdansk is an important port city on the southern edge of the Baltic Sea. It is also located at the mouth of the Motlawa River.  If you travel on the river you can get to Warsaw, the capital.   At the port city of Gdansk, you can see many boats.  There are boats used for shipping products.  There are also boats used for fun and recreation.
