Slovakian Capital

Bratislava with a population of 430,000 is the capital of Slovakia. The city lies on the banks of the Danube River. It is one of the youngest cities in Europe. In the past, Bratislava was known by the names Prespork, Pozsony and Pressburg.

80% of the people who live in Slovakia are Slovaks with other groups coming from Hungary, Italy, Czechoslavaki and Russia.  Over 60% of Slovaks are Roman Catholics.
