Chinese children’s game – Red Rover

Forcing the City Gates is game that children play in China that is like Red Rover. A group of children split into two teams and each team holds hands to create a long line. These two lines face each other and a child from one team runs at and tries to break through the other line. If the child breaks through, (s)he takes the two players (s)he broke through back to the original team and another player attacks. If the child does not break through, (s)he joins the team she just attacked. The game continues until one team eventually ends up with only two players. When they are broken through the city gates are forced open and the other team wins.
